Losar is a festival in Tibetan Buddhism. The holiday is celebrated on various dates depending on location and tradition. The holiday is a new year's festival, celebrated on the first day of the lunisolar Tibetan calendar, which corresponds to a date in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. The 2018 date is February 16th.

A non-dairy vegetarian soup, salad, bread and dessert will be served, followed by the heart-warming film ‘Tashi and the Monk,” a documentary about a Tibetan Buddhist monk who uses the experiences of his own childhood to help children living in poverty in a very poor and remote part of northern India.
*Following the film, Andrew Hinton, the director of the film, will join us via Skype to comment and answer questions!
